If you ever found yourself searching a lot looking for a particular item in TFS 2012 Web Access, you may have been frustrated when the search results keeping coming back with no results, despite you knowing the exact title of the work item. Believe it or not, there is method to the madness, and brief review of some of the searching syntax and you might find yourself a much happier person.

The biggest key, is if you are looking for an exact match against a title or description try putting your search term in quotes!
